July Eats

Tomato and Cheese Slices
Simple yet perfect this is what i eat when i don't bring any food from home or if there's nothing good to eat at Work. Basically its just Coon Tasty Cheese on top of bread with sliced tomatoes on top sprinkled with salt and pepper put in a mini oven till the bread is nicely toasted the cheese has melted and the tomatoes is slightly cooked and crispy on the sides. It's cheesy, tomatoey and peppery.

Vegetarian Fried Rice With Steam Cauliflower on top
This was a fail attempt of making fried rice which still turned out to be tasty after i kept adding random ingredients to liven up the flavor. Thats why this recipe didn't make it into my recipe blog. Basically the fried rice consisted of onions, capsicum, cauliflower, carrot and cabbage. The fried rice was lacking alot of flavor and was very bland. However since my parents were not in Australia me and my brother had to make do.

Clockwise from the tip: Muthiya,Roti,Bean and Potato Curry and Fried Potato Curry

Yes this meal was as lovely as it looks.Lots of variety and lots of foo. Basically the beans and potato curry was made by me and the rest by my aunty. Muthiya is made out of spinach of water spinach (some sort of leafy green bitter vegetable) which is boiled/steamed and then you fry it with onions and other spices. The potato curry is a dry, fried curry. The beans and potato curry which i made i used frozen beans, potatoes, tomatoes and onion and other spices. The curry was so lovely an i even was going to note down the recipe for this blog however i was feeling really lazy. But dont worry when ever i make it next time i i surely will write a recipe up for it.

August Eats

Mi Goreng flavored noodles with mix vegetables

This is basically instant Mi Goreng Noodles cooked with mix vegetables. I was planning on adding some onion an ginger, garlic and chilli paste in ti however i was feeling lazy so i left it simple. These mi goreng noodles wernt authentic and tasted rather sweet due to the soy sauce that comes with it. However when your hungry it doesn't matter.

Fish and Chips served with lemon an tartar sauce

Who can not love fish an chips. It so great and thanks to the person who created it. I ate this at a mall located near Darling Harbour. The fish was very oily but the coating was sill very crisp and the fish very well cooked and chunky. The chips were nicely cooked and very well seasoned. Served with slice of lemon and tartar sauce and that s marriage made in heaven.

Mix Vegetable Curry with Toast

This is mixed vegetable curry with toasted bread from my mums restaurant which i ate at work. The curry consists of potato, cauliflower and peas. The curry was fresh and tangy with lots of  chunky vegetables in it. The vegetables were still firm and not mushy however the tangy sauce really overpowered the dish and was very oily as you can tell from the picture. But if you eat it with bread, rice or roti it sucks all those juices up.

Bhindi (Okra) and Potato Curry

The Boy is my personal master chef seriously he cooks so well that i want to force him to audition for the MasteChef show next year. He cooked bhindi (okra) and potato curry which we ate with Lebanese Bread and rice. Normally bhindi curry is meant to be fried however since he cooked it in a small pot it was more gluggy and not fried at all. But still very tasty.

Sunflower Taiwanese Gourmet Restaurant

Hey guys its been ages since I've posted anything but I've just been busy with assignments as my new uni semester just started so sorry guys. And because of so many exams i havn;t even gotten a chance to go out and restaurants .So The Boy and Ms I thought it be a great time for me to go out with them to do salsa at The Establishment. I personally don't like salsa and i prefer eating over dancing anytime however since The Boy was getting annoyed so i thought why not i give it a try. But before i could do any sort of dancing i had to please my stomach first so off we went in search of a good restaurant close to Central station and UTS.

I have gone past Sunflower Taiwanese Gourmet Restaurant so many time while walking up to Broadway mall but never really thought on having dinner there. Now on this occasion because we were in a rush and wanted to eat somewhere close to public transport we planned on going to a Malaysian restaurant however the Malaysian restaurant that i had my mind on was closed so the only good looking place to eat we could find was Sunflower Taiwanese Gourmet Restaurant.

Sunflower Taiwanese Gourmet Restaurant is a very small Asian restaurant located right next to UTS and very close to Broadway Mall and Central station. As you peer at the window you will see those fake yet lifelike sculpture thingy that show what dishes they serve. As soon as you enter you will be greeted by one of the staff and will allocate you to the desired seat. Now the restaurant is very small and the night we went was very busy so it was a bit crowded when sitting down next to people on the other paper. the restaurant looks very neat and modern an has a massive picture of weird psychedelic cows, sunflowers and a kid eating ice cream all mashed up into a major art piece. Now the system in this restaurant is that you have to choose your dish and say to the person  in the counter and pay upfront. You also have to collect water bottles from the counter by yourself and various other condiments such as soy sauce, chilli an garlic paste from the counter as well.

The Boy an i ordered proper meal meanwhile Ms I wasn't feeling hungry and had already eaten so she ordered dessert.

Sunflower Paradise - $9.80
Normally im not a sweet fan especially when its to due with pancakes and crepes however this was just so beautifully delicious.Sunflower Paradise crepe had a mix of strawberry's and sliced bananas inside the crepe. Drizzled with chocolate on top and served with chocolate ice cream, whipped cream and sliced banana and strawberry. The crepes were nicely thin but slightly chewy however the fruit was just so fresh . It wasn't that heavy and rich like other pancakes and was very light, flavorsome and tasty.Just a little downside of this dish was the cream. I thought it would be sweet but it was bland and tasted not nice if you took a huge spoonful of it.Also the crepes were still warm when it was served so we knew it was freshly made and the fruits were nicely cut and not canned

Next came my seafood dish. The Seafood Combination dish had a combination of prawns, crab stick meat, baby octopus mixed with tofu, carrots, broccoli, bok choi and onions. It looked very healthy. The seafood was very nicely cooked and not fishy in taste and odor and the sauce tasted like sesame oil. However i found the sauce lacked in much flavor and i believed it needed a kick of soy sauce, garlic and chillis to liven it up. Therefore i mixed some extra condiments with it which was chilli an garlic paste and chilli oil. The serving was so big that i couldn't even finish it all.
Seafood Combination with rice- $11.20
Next came the Boys dish which was Orange Sauce Chicken with Rice..Now i was a bit skeptical of ordering this dish for The Boy because it had orange sauce in it which i thought it  be a odd combination with the chicken and maybe it will overpower the chicken making it sickly sweet but i was wrong. He's dish had nicely crumbed chicken pieces served with sauteed orange pieces broccoli and mystery minced stuff on top of his rice. It reminded me of Chicken Kraage as the chicken pieces were ever so nicely crumbed. Now i wasn't meant to eat chicken that day so i didn't get to try his dish however The Boy absolutely loved it He said that the orange sauce didn't over power the chicken at all and he found the chicken very crunchy and tender. Now the fried chicken pieces must be very good as he normally doesn't eat fried things. We weren't
sure on what the mystery stuff on top of the rice was. Ms I said it was crushed peanuts but i have a feeling it was minced pork.Again the portion was so huge that even The Boy couldn't finish it all.
Orange Sauce Chicken with Rice-$9.80.
Me and The Boy wanted something sweet now so we ordered another crepe dish.  Tropical Paradise had mixed fruit of mangoes kiwi pineapple and strawberry inside the crepe with mango sauce around it. Served with mango ice cream whipped cream and mixed fruit on top. Not only does this crepe look pretty but it damn yummy as well. The fruit was so fresh and tasty and went well with the crepe and mango sauce. Now the best feature of this dish was the mango ice cream  OMG i was in heaven it tasted like bloody fresh mango ice cream not does fake ones but those authentic fresh type similar to a gelato. It wasn't milky but more icy and sherbety. Very nice and refreshing after a heavy meal.
Tropical Paradise- $9.80

Menu 1
Menu 2

In conclusion Sunflower Taiwanese Gourmet Restaurant is a very quirky, tasty and cheap restaurant. From the outside you wouldn't tell that the place be selling fresh, clean, cheap yet tasty dishes. You can tell that the restaurant is very popular as its always packed with fellow Asian customers. The crepes are very fresh and made on order i believe as the crepes are still warm to the touch and the fruits used inside them are freshly cut and not canned. I will definitely come to this restaurant again an try the other dishes especially the dumplings.
I give Sunflower Taiwanese Gourmet Restaurant a 4/5.

Athenian Greek Restaurant

Athenian Greek Restaurant  is a classic and upper class restaurant located in an old bank building very close to Wynyard station. The first time I visited the Athenian Greek Restaurant was on my 20th birthday and for the second time this time it was for lunch with my friends after donating blood at Red Cross.
Athenian Greek Restaurant  is very elegant and looks like a very expensive upper class restaurant mostly aimed towards more older aged, office worker, rich old men type customers (lol).

Outside the restaurant you'll be welcomed by a grand statue of Athena the Greek Goddess and as soon as you enter the restaurant your eyes will straight away widen towards the big halls, the tall Greek style columns and high ceilings and the Greek inspired mural painted on the walls.
Now me and my friends came here for lunch so it was really empty but I believe from the many tables in this restaurant that it might get very busy at nights. We were welcomed by a smartly dressed waiter who ushered us to our seats and handed us our menus. After a few minutes of figuring out what to order we finally were ready to order. For appetizers we ordered Greek pita bread with Taramasalata dip and tzatziki dip and for mains Miss M ordered Vienna Schnitzel,Miss B ordered Lamb Souvlaki with chips and salad,Miss K ordered Grilled Grain Fed Porter House Steak with Diane sauce and I ordered Grilled Chicken Fillet with white wine, cream, mushrooms and shallot sauce and hand cut chips. The waiter we had today was very unfocused and unprofessional and wasn't even paying attention when i was giving my orders,i had to repeat to him twice my orders for him to get it correct.

It took quite a long time for our meals to arrive i believe around 30 minutes. It took more then 15 minutes for our appetizers to arrive, and by this time we were feeling really really hungry so when the appetizers did arrive we straight away jumped on to the pita bread and dips.

Greek pita bread ($6.00)with Taramasalata dip and Tzatziki dip ($10.00)
The pita breads were so aromatic and nice and had a slight taste of dukkah (Middle eastern spices) on the bread as well. The dips were very tasty and matched quite well with the pita bread. The taramasalata was slightly salty but it it matched well with the bread and the tzatziki had a great burst of flavour and was very similar to the Indian raita dip.

After 15 minutes more finally our mail meals arrived. All the meals were piping hot and the portions were HUGE.

Vienna Schnitzel with Chips and Salad ($20.50)Miss M's Vienna Schnitzel looked very appetizing and reminded me of crumbed eggplants. I didn't try her meal as it was beef but she said that the schnitzels were very dry and very hard to chew on,not at all moist as you would imagine with schnitzels. Her chips as you can see from the photo above were very dry and didn't look like the chips were made fresh to order.
Lamb Souvlaki with chips and salad ($25.50)
Miss B's lamb souvlaki was so big and i did get a chance to try this and to both our dismay this dish wasn't good as well. The lamb had lack of flavour and was very bland and very hard to chew and swallow. We had to chew for more then a minute to actually be able to swallow the lamb pieces. The salad was alright however the chips again were dry, lack of flavour and old.I always expected lamb souvlaki's be full of flavour with garlic and herbs but this lamb souvlaki tasted like you were chewing on boiled lamb pieces.
Grilled Grain Fed Porter House Steak with Diane sauce ($26.50)
Miss K's Grilled Grain Fed Porter House Steak with Diane sauce  may look small but it was very filling for Miss K, she couldn't even finish it all.As this dish was beef again therefore i couldnt try therefore i documented Miss Ks veiws towards this dish. The steak and thin slices of garlic on top and the sauce was very salty for Miss K and overpowered the flavour of the steak and again the chips were old and yuck.

Grilled Chicken Fillet with white wine, cream, mushrooms and shallot sauce ($23.50)
I was very excited in trying my Grilled Chicken Fillet with white wine, cream, mushrooms and shallot sauce as i have never tried any dish with white wine used in it plus it had mushrooms which is my favorite vegetable currently. The chicken filled was very big and i didn't get a chance to finish it all as i was full to the max.The chicken filled had lack of flavorful and salt and the sauce tasted a bit strange for me.It might me because i haven't tried this type of sauce before but i found it tasted too cheesy for me and the flavor overpowered the taste of the mushrooms and i couldn't even taste the shallot element in this dish. The mushrooms were quite big and meaty but it couldn't taste any mushroom flavour due to the sauce.I believe that they used to much of the cream in the sauce which reduced the taste of the other ingredients. Plus i found a hair in my meal half way through my dish and when we told this to our unattentive waiter he couldn't give us a great explanation and apology as to why the hair was in my meal.
And as all our meals came with chips which were old and not fresh we asked if we could have a fresh batch of chips and the other waiter said that the chips we received are fresh but after a bit more explaining to him and telling him the obvious that our chips don't even look fresh he finally agreed in providing us with fresh chips. After a 15 minute wait our fresh chips finally arrived.I haven't pictured the fresh chips however you could tell the difference between the new chips and the old chips and the new chips were much crispier.

Mint Turkish Delight
After we finished our meals we received complimentary after meal sweets which were mint flavored Turkish delights. Now none of my friends are fond of Turkish delights however i did have a bit to try even though i myself hate mint and Turkish delight. The Turkish delight did taste quite minty however the texture was very stodgy and it tasted like we were chewing on flavored dough.
Our Bill

In conclusion i was very disappointed with the Athenian Greek Restaurant and this was my second visit and the food was completely opposite to what i ate and tasted on my first visit. On my first visit the food was so tasty, full of flavour and the meats were very easy to cut and basically just melted in our mouths so i have no idea what happened in our second visit. Therefore i give this restaurant a 3/5 due to lack of flavour, dry old chips and hard to chew and swallow meat.

Adventures in Kings Cross,NSW

Colloquially known as The Cross, the area is known as Sydney's red-light district, and is reputed to be home to organised crime groups. It is dominated by bars, restaurants, nightclubs and strip clubs.

Alice Fountain Cafe,Kings Cross

Me and my friends thought it be a great time to finally visit the long awaited Kings Cross which we had forever planned to visit but never really did.We did visit it at day time so there really wasn;t any interesting people and sites we got to see however we did notice many strip clubs and joints already open with there bright, fluorescent inviting lights and it was only 1.30pm.
As we were stumbling thorough the main strip (Darlinghurst Rd) in finding a nice cafe/bar to have out lunch in we really couldn't find any that really ticked our fancy as many were too expensive or just the atmosphere wasn't that great and inviting until we say the lovely alfresco cafe situated right in front of  El Almain Fountain and the police station called "Alice Fountain Cafe".

Alice Fountain Cafe is a very laid back local cafe and great place to people watch as it's right next to the park. When we visited there it seemed like there was only 2 staff working however the service was very good. Our waiter was really friendly and service was great. Alice Fountain Cafe have many specials as well such as Rump Steak,Chip and salad with a free glass of house wine for $15. As we were all sitting down i did have a quick look to see what the other customers were eating and may i say the food looked very delectable and the portions were huge so i was really excited in eating here.
Majority of the meals are pretty fairly priced and mains range from $15-25 and have a variety of typical cafe foods such as pastas, burgers, sandwiches and other yummy dishes. Therefore i opted for the all time favorite chicken burger which came with chips and salad,my friends Miss M ordered the chicken parmigiana with chips and salad and lemon,lime-bitters to drink,Miss B ordered chicken schnitzel with chips and salad and Miss K ordered Bacon Carbonara and a jug of water for all of us.
Miss M's drink came first and she absolutely adores lemon, lime and bitter drink so she can really tell the difference between a good lemon, lime bitter drink to a bad one. She stated the this wasn't a proper one as there was no bitter element to the drink and it tasted more like lemon cordial was added to ice and water.

Lemon,Lime and Bitters ($8.00)

Miss M's drink came first and she absolutely adores lemon, lime and bitter drink so she can really tell the difference between a good lemon, lime bitter drink to a bad one. She stated the this wasn't a proper one as there was no bitter element to the drink and it tasted more like lemon cordial was added to ice and water. Also our jug of water and glasses came as-well  Now im very fussy with my cutlery especially glasses as they have to be spotless.Alice Fountain Cafes glasses were alright however the water tasted very odd.

Chicken Parmigiana with chips and salad ($17.50)

Next came Miss M's and Miss K's chicken dishes and might i say they looked mouth watering and huge.I expected that all our main dishes will come out together but i didn't mind.So after snatching a chip from Miss M's plate to try it was very nice and crunchy and fresh however i preferred to have a bit more salt to my chips but i wasn't really too fussed about it.I tried a bit of the chicken parmigiana and I was afraid that the chicken was going too be dry and sickly tart and tomatoey but it was very tasty and very well seasoned and the chicken was very moist and juicy and had a nice touch of parsley through the dish as well.

Chicken Schnitzel with chips and salad ($16.50)

Normally when i have eaten chicken schnitzel its always very dry and hard and the chicken breast isn't juicey as well but i was very taken aback by Alice Fountain Cafe's chicken schnitzel as it was completely opposite to what i imagined. The chicken breast was very juicy and very well seasoned and the breadcrumb batter was very crunchy and light and not at all tough and hard to chew.

Chicken Burger with chips and salad ($15.00)

Finally my dish came and was grinning from ear to ear and very excited as my burger was HUGE.The bun was very nicely buttered and toasted (just the way i like) and i noticed that the tomato and and lettuce leafs were very fresh looking. Also the lettuce leaves used in the burger wernt shredded as i normally imagined as all the burgers ive tried have had shredded lettuce but this burger actually had individual pieces of baby cos lettuce (i think) inside the burger which was great. The burger had avocado smeared inside the base of the bun, with a yummy tender chicken breast, cheese and mayonnaise as well) As soon as i bit into the burger i got a lovely burst of flavour from the very well seasoned chicken breast, the slightly buttery and saltiness from the butter, the rich creaminess from the avocado and the lovely sweetness and the tang from the mayonnaise. It was great. The salad that came with out meals was a loose leaf salad mix with cucumber, cherry tomatoes and shredded carrot throughout the salad mix.It was very well dressed with a balsamic dressing. Now normally im not a fancy salad fan as nearly all the salads I've tried it had those yucky butter green things in it and the dressing was revolting as well however this salad was very pleasing to eat and the dressing wasn't too sour for me as well and thank goodness there wasn't any of those bitter salad stuff in it.

Bacon Carbonara ($15.00)

Last and not least Miss K's Bacon Carbonara came and it looked so creamy. I didn;t try Miss K's pasta dish as it had pork in it but it did look very creamy and had a good quantity of bacon throughout her dish. She said it was very nice and tasty and was so full that she couldn't finish it all.

Overall we were all very happy, full and content with our meals and service and our waiter so we thought we live a special message for our lovely water as-well (lol). I would rate Alice Fountain Cafe 4.5/5 as the meals were great for the prices we paid, very tasty and the atmosphere was good as well.

Andersen's of Denmark Ice Cream

Our belly's full and our mind content, out fellow friend Miss B was having a bit of a sweet tooth craving. We had gone past a lovely ice creamiery joint which was right near Alice Fountain Cafe so that was the only spot we had in mind that we were going to visit. Now as soon as you enter you will be overwhelmed with the variety of flavors on offer at "Andersen's of Denmark Ice Cream" joint. As you can see from the photo below.

Miss B ordered  just 1 scoop of hazelnut ice cream on a simple cone. She said it was very nice and hazelnuty however not the best ice cream she has tried. Also the prices in Andersen's of Denmark Ice Cream is very expensive compared to other ice cream joints but i believe it might be due to the high quality of chocolate and ingredients used at Andersen's of Denmark Ice Cream  as advertised in there website.

In conclusion i would rate Andersen's of Denmark Ice Cream 3/5 as the ice cream was pretty average and the price was very expensive.

Max Brenner

Death by Chocolate

Max Brenner aka The Bald Man has taken the world by storm with his innovative chocolate making ways ,he's like the 2st century Willy Wonka and has stores worldwide.
Now before i met The Boy i was living under a rock so i had no idea of who the hell Max Brenner was what he did and what his restaurants were.So if you also don't know who he is then you must be living under a rock as well (LOL)
The Boy used to work with Max Brenner and knows Max Brenner personally so he was the one who took me for the first time to my first Max Brenner chocolate experience at Broadway and this was in 2011 (I know long time aye). I remember we ordered the Tutti Frutti Waffle and Milk Chocolate Sukao (where you melt your own chocolate and suck it up through a fancy straw). Now for me in general im not a sweet tooth of a person,i prefer savory over sweet any day but sometimes you just need some sweetness in your life. Now from that 2011 experience i still remember that i really didn't like the Tutti Fruity Waffles as they were really stodgy and heavy and too sweet for my liking (or maybe i felt like that cos i was in a bad mood that day lol) however i really liked the idea of the Sukao thing where you melt your own chocolate over a candle and mix it with warm milk and suck it up. But in the end i just found it a waste of money.

Fast forward to 28th June 2013 and this was my second time in visiting Max Brenner but this time in Parramatta. So my friend Miss B came back from Melbourne so this was a great time for all of us to catch up so me,Miss K and Miss B went to watch Despicable Me which was very cute and funny and after finishing the movie we thought it be great to go to Max Brenner for some girly gossip session.
Now as soon as you enter Max Brenner you straight away get this nice cosy young atmosphere feel oozing from the restaurant. The interior is all wooden and theirs little wooden tables and chair situated all around the restaurant and as soon as your enter you'll see 2 big barrels of milk and white chocolate churning inside the barrel. The restaurant is full of young uni students and theirs some young couples sitting as-well so Max Brenners is great for a date.

Since we weren't really hungry we just ordered warm drinks. I ordered Mexican Spicy Chocolate,Miss K ordered Coconut Chocolate and Miss B ordered Max's White Chocolate Chai and a jug of water to share.

Clockwise from top left: Max's White Chocolate Chai ($6.00),Coconut Chocolate($6.00) and Mexican Spicy Chocolate ($6.00)
It took a long time for our drinks to arrive and we had to ask numerous times from numerous staff members for our jug of water. After our drinks arrived i was a tad bit disappointed as the sizes were quite small for the prices we paid for them. Mine and Miss K's arrived in Hug Mugs and Miss B's arrived in a fancy teapot thing which you place over a glass to pour the drink in. Taste wise my drink wasn't that great and the texture was very watery similar to like when you get those instant coffee powders which you just pour in hot water. The flavour was very odd and not chocolatey enough. It did have a spicy note to it and did live my throat burning for a little bit but overall i was very disappointed. I didn't try Miss K's drink but i did try Miss B's drink and  that too was very watery. There was just too much spices in her drink such as cardamom, cinnamon and star anise that overpowered the whole drink and didn't even taste like chai. It was like they just added random spices in hot milk and served it to us.

In conclusion Max Brenner's disappointed me again and i just believe it's just not worth it for the high price your paying for there meals. But if your those type of people who adore sweets then this place is a must for you.

June Eats

Strawberry's and Cream Muffin (left) and Red Velvet Muffin (right)
Yesterday i had a little catch up session with my lovely friends Miss K and Miss B and Miss K gave me these lovely muffins from Cupcakes on Pitt. Now must i say that these cute little things are so delectable looking and such a great gift for anyone. So guys if your every confused as to what to give your gf for Valentines Day or her birthday then just get her these cupcakes or if your like me and like giving girly gifts to your bf then this is also great as well (LOL). Anyways back to these muffins so i tried the Red Velvet flavored muffin first and may i say they were quite tasty. The muffins were very moist and not eggy as i hate eggy muffins and the icing was very smooth and not crunchy like some icings are. However the icing was too sweet for my liking and i didn't really get much of the red velvet flavour which your normally get from cakes. Next was the Strawberrys and Cream Muffin and might i say this muffin smelt divine just like fresh strawberrys, even my clothes are smelling like strawberrys now. So this Strawberry cupcake has hint of Strawberry filled with fresh strawberries and Strawberry butter cream and has a little biscuity thing on the top aswell. Now this strawberry was very flavorsome and packed full of strawberry flavour and wasn't super sweet like the red velvet muffin and the little slice of strawberry on top was very fresh aswell. So ladies and gentleman if your ever stuck on what to gift your loved ones then these muffins are the best option and once again thank you miss K for these.

Chicken Flavored Ramen with mushrooms and onions
Now you may look at this pic and think it looks very bland then yes you are right even the noodles were very bland. Now normally i eat those Mi Goreng Instant Noodles but my dad bought so many packets of these Chicken Flavoured Ramen from somewhere so i had to try it. In the packet it said it came with some soup base powder and oil but since im used to those Mi Goreng noodles i thought it would be exactly like that but to my dismay these noodles had just 1 soup base and 1 really small packet of some sort of oil. I realized that these noodles will be pretty bland so i added some mushrooms and onions while i was cooking these noodles and to garnish a sprinkle of fried onions. When i smelled and tasted the oil from the noodles pack it was so nice that it brought me back sweet memories of Asian foods I've eaten which tasted exactly  like this oil so i need to recheck what this fabulous oil is. Anyways after it was all cooked i tried it and the noodles were very salty which believe must be from that soup packet, thanks to that fabulous oil and my mushrooms and onions it make it a bit more pleasant to eat. I wouldn;t highly recommend these noodles however the quantity is big...i couldn't even finish of all the noodles which i normally do.But maybe if your add your own flair to these noodles then it'll be more pleasant

Tuna with mayonnaise of crackers

My mum didn;t give me anything for work and the only edible ingredients i could find were Sao crackers, tuna (Italian style) and mayonnaise so i thought of making this. Before i started work i had never tried the tuna and mayonnaise combo as i thought it be work but after starting work and seeing the staff members eating i thought i should try it as-well  And it was actually really good so from there on i started making tuna and mayonnaise sandwiches and even putting it on simple crackers. Strangely the fishy tuna works well with the sweet, cool and creamy mayonnaise  Just add a touch of salt and pepper and your set. However i couldn't finish all the crackers as i was too lazy to drain the oil from the tuna properly so the tuna oil was starting to taste off with the mayonnaise and i kinda got over it .I don't know why but this always happens... i crave tuna and mayo and when i start eating it i get bored of it.But you know what another good combination with tuna is onions and chilli. Prawn Curry With Rice and Salad
As i'm in 4 weeks of uni break and The Boy;s gone off to holidays i thought this would be a great time to start exercising, eating healthy and losing weight. I trying to start portion controlling my meals but i don't think the serving in the pic suits my portion control plan.(Oh wells lol) My mum cooked prawn curry last night so its my lunch this morning. Normally my mum cooks prawns in a rich tomato and onion sauce and we don't peel the prawns because it takes to much time. I normally like the curry sauce to be thick however my dad wants it watery and soupy so we gotta listen to him. The sweet prawns complements well with the oniony and tomatoey rich sauce however theirs are tad bit too much ginger in this curry for my liking. To be healthy i was thinking it of accompanying it with salad however the only salad ingredients i could find was lettuce and onion . I think we used basmati rice for this which i don't like. I prefer jasmine rice as it mixes well with the curry and doesn't tend to get dry. With basmati rice it's very dry and i found that if you eat it with a very soupy curry the rice doesn;t absorb it that well.

Vegetable Samosa With Yogurt

I was feeling so hungry and had a craving for something heavy and spicy and my mum had brought samosa from work last night. Now i must say before when my mum wasn't working in an Indian restaurant i had major cravings for samosas and every time i met up with The Boy i would always ask for samosa. So now my mums working in an Indian restaurant she brings samosas everyday so i kinda of gotten bored of it but still as times i get my cravings. Now samosas are like the typical Indian savory snack of India you can find it everywhere and anywhere. The case is made out of flour similar to a roti or puri dough and the filling's traditional vegetarian with 70% potato and 30% mixed vegetables which are cooked in spices into a really dry curry and then the samosas are fried. Now my mums samosas from work aren't the greatest samosas I've tried but it still does the job. In this samosa there is lack of salt and variety in mixed vegetables which gives it not a very flavorful taste. Also the samosa casing in too thick and isn't fried off well. I accompanied this samosa with some plain Greek yogurt as it would be too heavy to eat it by itself and yogurt helps in digestion. But normally samosas are accompanied with imli (tamarind) chutney, raita (cucumber with yogurt) and/or mint chutney.
Anyways if you guys want to try this samosa or would like to visit my mum (lol) then just follow this address.

Scrambled eggs and avocado chutney on spinach wrap

So it was boy;s last day yesterday as he's going to Thailand and India for 6 weeks :( :( So i visited him yesterday for our last good bye. We were feeling hungry and with lack of ingredients in his kitchen the only ingredients we could find were spinach tortilla wraps, eggs, ginger garlic chilli paste and avocados so whats better then using limited ingredients in making a new, never tried dish LOL.
After we finished cooking up a storm it was time for the final taste test. I was thinking that the egg and avocado chutney combo wouldn't go well but it actually was alright. Except i put too much ginger, garlic chilli paste in the avocado chutney so it overpowered the subtle eggy taste of the filling inside. Oh wells .... However i have changed the recipe slightly so you guys don't get the garlic explosion.Enjoy!!!! :)
